Our Fiscal Sponsor – Blamadon Center For The Arts

Although Seenajah currently awaits it’s own 501(c)3, charitable status but we did not have to look too far for a fiscal sponsor. James Roberts (aka Kona Khasu) is the pioneer of the arts in Liberia. After 40+ years in the making, fiscal sponsor Blamadon Center Arts in 2014, he was able to erect the Blamadon Center For The Arts – a 501(c) charitable organization focused on reestablishing the arts in the post civil war era of Liberia.

Is Seenajah Legit? …Why do you need a fiscal sponsor?

“A fiscal sponsor is a nonprofit organization that provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, and other administrative services to help build the capacity of charitable projects.”
-Fiscal Sponsorship: a 360 Degree Perspective, Trust for Conservation Innovation.

The role of the fiscal sponsor can include performing many different administrative functions on behalf of the sponsored organization or program, including taking on the responsibility of receiving and administering charitable contributions on behalf of the sponsored organization. Some fiscal sponsors do a lot more, such as performing back-office functions. -National Council of Non-Profits

With the urgent need for action and the wider range of movement and positioning possible as a verified charitable organization, there was no need for Seenajah to wait.

As a result of the extreme efforts of James Roberts and the establishment of Blamadon, Saiba Roberts was deeply moved. This brought the clarity to his own vision for Liberia, Seenajah and its integral distinct projects. Blamadon happily serves as the temporary fiscal sponsor for Seenajah.

At this time (Spring 2020), any and all contributions to Seenajah will provide a charitable write off for donors as Blamadon will accept donations on Seenajah’s behalf. 100% proceeds will be forwarded to Seenajah to apply within its own structure to bring its program to light. In our efforts to keep you informed with our progress we will update everyone with our autonomous efforts and application for 501(c)3 status.

Any questions, feel free to contact us. Meantime, please see our fiscal sponsor: Blamadon’s, acceptance letter below and read more about it’s honorable founder, James Roberts here.
